Since our Christmas review we have fallen in love with Hotel Chocolat so I was delighted when asked to review The Sleekster ‘All about Mum’ selection box.

Beauty in a box!

Very fittingly I had my Mum over for dinner this week and we decided to put the chocolate tasting to the test. We decided (well I decided) that we would play a game, because when we opened them, there was such an array of colour and beauty that immediately everyone was trying to claim the best ones, so I refused to let them know the flavours. It was blind testing and was very effective.

The box contained 95% truffles which are my absolute favourite, and only one type of the chocolates (of which there were two, as all the different chocolates came in pairs) was praline, which was great for both my Mum and I as we are not nut fans. Usually boxes of chocolates are wasted on us, as most of the box has nut centred chocolates and we leave them, so to find a company that does boxes of just truffles make me love Hotel Chocolat even more.

The blind testing was hilarious and despite the odd shock at a chilli kick in the soft chilli caramel, which was then soothed by the caramel afterward (it was delicious) every mouthful was a delight. My favourite was the ‘A kiss for Mother’s Day” which were shaped as a set of pink lipstick lips, closely followed by the Buck Fizz, which probably was the most beautiful in the box.

Plus I am addicted to the Hotel Chocolat White chocolate, and i don’t know what they do to make it so creamy but it is so beautiful in a truffle.

It comes with 24 different chocolates but there are 2 of each sweetheart so 26 chocolates in total. The box is priced at £22.00 which is beautiful spoily present for any Mummy. Both Mum and I said we would be truly chuffed to receive these on Mother’s day.

I give the Hotel Chocolat All About Mum selection box a 9/10 score and it only loses 1 point for the one praline chocolate, which I am sure is not bad, it is just not my taste.
