Zoo days!

We are so lucky that we live very close to a fabulous zoo and as a result have gold cards that mean we can get in as many times a we like for a whole year! Plus you can use your Tesco vouchers to add towards it so it makes it very worth while and also means you go just go for a few hours without feeling it cost you a small mortgage in to get in.

For the last six months there has been a huge change in the way a zoo day goes. BBis so interested in animals. When I watch other Mother’s with their children there I am always amazed by his levels of interest and how long he wants to look at them. He also remembers their names!

The logistics are also a lot easier now, I can get round with BBwalking all the time and push the double, where as before it was impossible to take the triple as the zoo is very hilly! Today however was brilliant to have an extra pair of hands called Daddy. It meant that I could get the twins out the pushchair to have a walk around. Florrie today walked everywhere bless her, but after her bath tonight she was practically falling asleep in my arms she was so tired!

My son is slightly OCD already and so everything has to happen in an order.

First we have to see the snakes. I did have a picture but due to the reflective glass it is rubbish so have not bothered to put it on.

Then the iggy nana; as BBcalls it (Iguana).

Then the lions!
Then the elephants.
Then today, bless him he braved feeding the Giraffe’s! I was very proud because although he loves animals he can get very nervous about things he is unsure of, but he braved it and then wanted to feed them again!
We usually finish off with face painting but we missed it today as we got stuck in traffic due to a horrid crash and so this delayed the looking round. BBwas so good when the lady said the boy in front of him would be the last! His poor little sad face, she was made of stronger stuff than me, but he was easily distracted and didn’t get too upset at all. So I shall leave you with the faces of my baby cats the last time we went.
My baby Leopard!
Painting in progress!
My gorgeous Tiger!

Sounds like you had a lovely day! We are also lucky enough to live near a Zoo, Port Lympne, and also have an annual pass which is great value. We will be making the most of it this summer I am sure. Can't wait til Esther and William are old enough for face painting x

What a lovely day out, and how lucky you are to live so close to a place like that to be able to take advantage of an annual membership. Our nearest zoo is great, but over an hour's drive away, and we've only managed one trip so far in the geekdaughter's life (and that was before the geekson was born!).
