What do Gok Wan, Fearne Cotton and Boot Christmas have in common? Well the fact that it was Boots’ Christmas press launch today and Gok Wan and Fearne Cotton were there to launch their amazing Christmas products this year along with Mark Hill and Lisa Armstrong.
It was a brilliant Boots event. Held in London near Embankment and knowing it would be full of fabulously dressed beauty people I was a little more cautious about my outfit this morning. Needless to say if the lucky opportunity of meeting Gok came up I wanted to look appropriate!
The opportunity arrived as soon as we arrived (that’s me and the the lovely Liska from New Mum Online). We were a little bit star struck but the man is just so friendly and down to earth. He offered to apply his amazing Purely Yours body lotion to Liska’s magnificent chest which I think she thoroughly enjoyed, and bless him, opted for my arms as well… let face it, my chest is a little hidden tiny these days!

Set out all round the room were all the different ranges of Boots goodies. I was keen to see the Mark Hill range, as my hair is dead straight and really won’t do anything. The man himself was there and immediately launched into conversation and ways of keeping a curl….we stopped him and asked if we could video him and his response as it was so good, so he very kindly repeated himself! I have to say I was loving his hair brush range and the Sexy waves and curls pro magic wand priced at £59.99

To add a real vintage rock vibe you want to head to Fearne Cotton’s range aptly titled Fearne. It really does shout out to you and looks vibrantly trendy whilst feminine which I think is a clever accomplishment. I just loved the little handbag mirror. Fearne talked me through her products herself showing that there was day wear and evening wear and then very kindly informed me I had some of her body cream on my nose (die on the spot moment and too embarrassing for words), but I was impressed she told me!

The Champneys spa area was so lovely, kitted out with two lounge chairs and two therapist giving arm massages (two in one day…yes I know I am greedy!) the whole range is aimed at me time!

I particularly liked the Skin comforting kit, which the representative informed me they use in the spa on pregnant woman, so I though that would be a lovely gift for someone expecting over the Christmas period.
Another make-up success that I was very impressed with was Lisa Armstrong’s Strictly Come Dancing range (and yes she is Ant Mcpartlin’s wife but talented in her own right). It has been carefully thought through, the colour palettes being themed to the different forms of dance, Salsa, Ballroom and Latin, making it very usable by everyone. The range was also very reasonable in price and I could see teenagers buying it as presents for their friends.
I also loved the Boots Mini club clothes range. I don’t have a boots locally that stocks it, I have to travel further afield but I have always found that it washes well and is great quality. However the team informed me today that it will soon all be available on line and that you can get it delivered to your local boots so you don’t have to pay postage, just collect! A fabulous idea.
And finally who doesn’t like a bit of Hello Kitty, especially when it has been made all grown up by being teamed with Liberty! Don’t you think the print looks fab?
Me having to say goodbye! Hope I have managed to pass on some great Christmas ideas for you. Don’t forget that with Boots you can get you advantage card points on all your purchases plus most of the items are 3 for 2 at Christmas time and some of the bigger products are often put on their weekly star buy at half price so make sure your one step ahead of the game!
