The King’s Panto book and DVD Review Plus win a Signed copy!

Everyone loves going to a Pantomine don’t they?

‘oh no they don’t!”

‘Oh yes they do!”

(I am so witty sometimes hey!)

The King’s Panto is a fabulous Children’s Story written by Martin Coleman. It tells the story of a very grumpy King who demands and shouts and is completely selfish, who insists a Royal Panto be performed despite the fact it is not Panto season and everyone on is a holiday! All the Royal subjects – dukes, ladies, Dukes and Dames are sent off in search of the characters and they bring back not one but all of the enchanted names including Puss in Boots, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping beauty and Noah’s favourites Peter Pan and Captain Hook!

The Panto is rushed together and it all goes wrong and the King ends up being chased by the giant! Who will save the King? What characters d you know have encounters with giants? Yes good old Jack, but can he save the king in time and make him a nicer person? Well you need to read to find out!

BBloved this story from start to finish. He loved the rhyming couplets and started to memorise parts of the story. He is really into all the ‘Grimm’s fairytale’ stories at the moment so a modern book with a traditional twist that included them all was perfect, especially when he can’t decide what to read. The book is A4 size and this is due to the wonderful illustrations created by Tim Slater. They are truly imaginative, colourful and eye-catching and the middle of the book is a beautiful double spread illustration including all the characters.

An example of the beautiful illustrations!

The book comes with a beautifully crafted DVD which has been watched, and watched and watched some more and is narrated by Martin himself! It would be brilliant if it was made into an audio version too as it would be fabulous for the car!
