I am the eldest Child of three.
My husband is the youngest of four.
We have three children. Two boys and a girl. (The youngest boy and girl are twins).
The children are lucky to have two sets of loving and supportive Grandparents.
My Grandparent’s on my mother side are still with us. They adore having Great Grandchildren.
My husband’s Nan, who will be 100 this year, is still with us!
We have 4 nieces and 2 nephews whom are all gorgeous.
I am Godmother to three children – two beautiful girlies and one scrummy little boy!
I have cousins and Aunts and Uncles that I see all the time. They are very important to us.
We hosted Christmas dinner for 16 members of my side of the family this year.
We have chosen friends to be the godparent’s of our children. They say friends are the family you choose for yourself.
Our family is huge. It is still expanding.
Words cannot really begin to describe exactly how important each and every one of them is to me, and how much they are all loved.
I am thankful everyday that they are healthy. I pray everyday that no-one gets sick.
Family to me is…
Turning up on the doorstep in floods of tears knowing you will be greeted by a hug and a cup of tea.Snuggling up together in bed because the heating is broken and you want to get warm.
Eating round the table, on a picnic rug or in a Wendy house all together!
Climbing to the top of the jungle gym to rescue your littlest who is now too scared to come down, even thought you fear you might not fit through the tube slide!
Sledging in the snow, collecting shells on the beach, walks, bikes rides and puddle splashing. The things that are free but together.
Cinema evenings in with a large bowl of popcorn that you all share.
Staying up all night making an outfit for fancy dress party that they are attending and they want to go as Kermit the frog!
Holding the hair back of the family member being sick.
Making a complete fool of yourself drunk, knowing full well you will be forgiven the next day.
Car journey’s with mint Imperials and sing along songs!
Family is warm, friendly loving and forgiving.
Family is comforting, supportive, healing, and inspiring.
I have one amazing family.
I have created with my husband another generation of that family.
I hope our family continues to expand.
