Science Sparks Build a Bridge Challenge!

We are really enjoying Science Sparks and are thrilled with the level of interest so far. We would however love to see more of you take part so we have decided to try to inspire you with a competition. The fabulous Science Museum have kindly donated a Lego Lights Dynamo torch as a prize! There nothing like a bit of healthy competition to get the scientific juices flowing.
‘No more scrabbling in the dark with this cheerful torch to light your way. With a bulb concealed in his foot, this LEGO man strides in to help when a little extra light is needed. And he’s eco friendly too – just turn the crank handle and the torch lights up.’
The Challenge
We would like you to design and make a bridge. We are not going to give you rules as to materials but we need to see a photo and that it can carry a load. We want to see how innovative you can be and we want to understand your thinking behind it, so add any information or explanations you like into your entry.
So get thinking and get building. We would love to see your attempts. It would be a great project to set the kids onto to keep them entertained.
Closing date is 12th July.
You can enter on both mine and Mummymummymum’s blog but each entry will only be counted once. You can either post a link to a blog or FB post in the comments or e-mail us a picture or video to and leave a comment to let us know. UK entries only please.
We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

The Science Museum  is world renowned for its historic collections, awe-inspiring galleries and inspirational exhibitions. If you are around this weekend why not check out:
Stitched Science on the 25/26th June for a weekend of knitting and stitching events, in partnership with Stitch London, encouraging experts and novices alike to get involved in a range of workshops, which include helping to create a giant stitched solar system. There’ll also be a display of woolly wonders from stitchers around the world as science meets craft to make Stitched Science Specimens.
The Science Museum shop sells lots of great products, why not take look here.
