Get ready for school with Fairtrade Cotton – A sponsored Post

We all know the importance of fairtrade but do we really think about as much when we shop? I know I have got better with food things like bananas, coffee and chocolate and am prepared to pay that little bit more to ensure that other people across the globe are making fair money. Not money to buy sports cars and mansion, but money to be able to feed and clothe their families and live a ‘normal’ quality of life. What I did not realise is that fair -trade include clothes, clothes specifically made by cotton.

When I watched this video I was amazed to find that currently it can cost cotton farmers more to grow and harvest the cotton than they can make from selling it.

The video also has a link to lots of children’s resources and activities on Fair-trade products.

So I am now going to look for the fair-trade label on clothes, especially on school uniforms which I shall imagine lots of us will be purchasing into time for September. I didn’t even realise school uniform could be fair-trade. Now I do I shall be being doing my best to ensure that BB’s polo shirts are!
