Family Frolics: A Pier Trip

Welcome back to Family Frolics.

At the end of last week my Mum came to stay with us for a few days. The children had their pre-school school trip and mum said she would come with me to give me a hand. We were all travelling to Walton on the Naze as a group by train and once there splitting up to do our own thing.

We decided introduce the children to the idea of a pier. This colourful, vibrant pier on a weekday was deserted. We practically had the whole thing to ourselves and the children were in heaven!

Firstly they were excited by the train, but more importantly the fact they got their snack on the train!

Then we introduced Walton pier!

They were ecstatic that Nanny let them have a ride on a mini merry go round.

Over the moon to ride a mini roller coaster!

Thrilled to go on a pirate spinning ride!

And enthralled by squirting pirates.

We were only there a few hours and treated them to some very naughty chips and a sugar doughnut (but it is the law when you go on a pier!). I couldn’t believe how easy it was to get there and I shall definitely be heading back, this time with a picnic and some buckets and spades for the beach as well.

So what have you been up to this week?

Do link up and share your family fun posts. I love reading them.
