Day 7 – Potty Training

Late post I’m afraid as I was out indulging in an early birthday treat from my best friend. (She took me for dinner and the theatre!)

So potty training…

Not sure what to think really. BBwent to nursery today armed with a million pairs of trousers and pants. The nursery are superb and so supportive however they reported that BBhas two accidents, which I though was great going, but he refused to go to the potty and just held his wee all day apart from the two accidents.

So should I pleased he can hold it for longer or worried that he still is not really keen on the potty?

I knew potty training was going to be messy, and I also knew it would not be overnight, but was I silly in thinking that by day seven he might be telling us he wants to go?

Just going to have to keep going! I have know idea how people do that Gina Ford in seven days method. She would have said pack it all away know, but he is so happy to finally wear pants, I not sure I want to go backwards. So I fear it may be a wet month. Well they say April showers!

You're both doing great! They all tend to have quite a few accidents when they first start going to nursery in pants and a lot of that is because it's a variant in a routine they're only just learning and also, they get so involved in whatever activity they're up to at the time, they ignore it until it's too late! Don't give up, you're nearly there! xx

Holding his wee whilst in a different environment seems like a great sign. (Will be helpful in supermarkets!) It's all part of the process and I think only 2 accidents is great. Each day will bring a new challenge but every child does it eventually- so keep going! xx
