A-Derma Eczema products review and giveaway

Chilled out boy has a terrible skin. It is dry and patchy and gets sore and irritated. Although they don’t know if there are genetic  links for atopic skin I am definitely holding his Grandpa and Daddy responsible who both suffer with Eczema and sensitive skin.

We have done the usual methods to help reduce his symptom, like avoid bath products, consider washing detergents and moisturise, but when I was asked to review the A-DERMA emollient cream and Oil cleansing wash that have been specifically formulated for atopic babies, children and adults, I thought it was worth a go.

The Emollient Cream

This cream contains Rhealba oat plantlets extract which helps to regulate the skins irritation and soothe irritated skin. It has a rich texture but it rubs in easily and leaves no greasy residue. It can be applied 2 times a day to both the body and the face, which is great for us, as the little man can get quite dry cheeks.

It is moisturising and fragrance free, and hypoallergenic.

I have to say I was very impressed with cream. We only applied once a day after bath time, but it did take the ‘sandpaper’ feel away from chilled out boys skins and particularly the reduced the irritation and redness behind the backs of his knees. Three weeks on from using it and the backs of the knees are nearly healed.

Cleansing Oil

This is a soap free product. Soap is something renowned for usually making atopic skin worse. Again it contains Rhealba oat plantlets extract which help to regulate skin irritation.

It actually felt so delightful to use, I was tempted to use it myself. It seemed to moisturise whilst cleaning and he would get out the bath feeling smoother and did not dry out the skin. I had not found a body wash product that I was happy using on him yet and was constantly worrying that he was not clean enough if we used just aqueous cream to wash with.

Again I noticed that this had most impact on the smaller dry patched of skin on his back and tummy and now his whole body is smooth. It appears to be working as a preventative.

I would say that if you are concerned about your child’s skin, especially if it is very sore that you seek medical advice from your doctor as to various treatments to use. This is my account of my son and I have found this product to be very helpful indeed and I shall be using it again from now on.

You can buy these products from Boots. The emollient cream retails at £10.50 and the Cleaning Oil at £10.00 which I actually think is very reasonable for reduces soreness and irritation of your little one. I would definitely recommend but if unsure do consult your doctor.

So I have one A-DERMA emollient cream to give away to one lucky reader!

To enter simply leave a comment telling me what extract can be found in the A-DERMA range and fill in the entry form below which includes bonus entries as well! Simple! Good luck!
