We were sent some Rice Krispies and a lovely colouring case from Britmums last week. Rice Krispies have for a short time replaced the regular front of its Rice Krispies boxes with a colour-in Snap, Crackle and Pop, so children can decorate the characters and personalise their breakfast.
We were set the mission to do this and I thought this would be great to do with twins whilst BB was at pre-school as he often gets most of the fun.
It made me think if I could make a day of playing with or around the theme of Rice Krispies. I now had a mission in mind and set about trying to come up with ideas.
I don’t think we did too badly and the twins certainly had fun!
Activity one – Digging Rice Krispies
I put a load of rice Krispies in a tray each and let them select the cars and diggers they wanted and they spent ages scooping and digging and transporting the rice.
Activity Two – A Rice Krispie Treasure Hunt
I put a load of Rice krispies into a big bowl and filled it with treasure toy coins and the twins had to hunt around in the bowl to find them. It was a great way to encourage sensory play.
Activity Three – Computer Skills with Rice Krispies
On the Rice Krispies website they have a computer program where you can choose from a paint palate and colour in the picture. It actually was a little too fiddly for the twins and would be more suitable for BB but they thought it was magic and were quite happy directing Mummy as to what should be coloured in which colour!
Activity Four – Krispie Cakes! (A no brainer really!)
Melted Chocolate and Rice Krispies make for a yummy snack and the twins thought this was fab!
Activity Five – The Colouring In
The twins loved the colouring set and were particularly impressed with the brush pens and the glitter glue.
I don’t think they did a too bad a job and they did use every colour between them!
Created by Little Lady and Chilled out boy aged Two and Half!
So all in all we had a fun-filled Rice Krispie Day!
